As one of the region’s premier providers of foot and ankle surgical services, Drs. Vincent J. Pongia Jr., (Top Doc 2010, 2011 & 2013), Dr. Kevin J. DeAngelis (Top Doc 2010, 2011 & 2013) and Dr. Stephen S. Soondar (Top Doc 2011) specialize in comprehensive foot and ankle surgery for the entire family. They are also one of the few specialty groups in the Delaware Valley to offer wound care of the lower extremity with hyperbaric oxygen certification. Areas of specialization include reconstructive foot and ankle surgery & diabetic wound care. These physicians are also laser certified.
Dr. Pongia received his undergraduate degree in biology from DeSales University and earned his medical degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has served as Chief of Podiatry at Brandywine Hospital and is a frequent guest speaker at area health seminars on the topic of diabetic foot health.
Drs. DeAngelis and Soondar also earned medical degrees from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Drs. Pongia, DeAngelis & Soondar are all board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in forefoot & rearfoot reconstructive surgery, and Fellows of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Soondar is a board member of Temple University’s School of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery.
All three physicians are associated with Brandywine, Mercy Suburban, Phoenixville and Pottstown Hospitals. They also work out of Brandywine and Pottstown Wound Care Centers.

Dr. Vincent John Pongia Jr has been providing expert and compassionate medical and surgical care of foot and ankle disorders for 26 years. He is a graduate of Salesianum High School, DeSales University and Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Residency training in Foot and Ankle Surgery was accomplished at Metropolitan Hospital, Bryn Mawr Hospital and Chester Crozer Hospitals. In addition to surgical training, this residency also concentrated in Wound Care and Limb Salvage.
Dr. Pongia is a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, specializing in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery and Trauma. He is also a Wound Care Specialist and certified in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Laser Surgery and ankle arthroscopy. In addition, Dr. Pongia has served as an educator with a teaching appointment at the V.A. Medical Center in Coatesville, PA, training surgical residents in Foot and Ankle Surgery. He continues to train the incoming surgical residents at Brandywine and Phoenixville Hospitals, as well as Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Over the years, Dr. Pongia has served as Service Chief of Podiatric Surgery at Brandywine Hospital and also has hospital privileges at Phoenixville and Pottstown. He is the first Podiatric Physician voted The Top Doc in Main Line Today in 2010, and again in 2011. Dr. Pongia has been in private practice in Chester County for the past 26 years, maintaining the highest standards of care for his patients. Dr. Pongia currently practices with Drs. Kevin DeAngelis and Stephen Soondar, and remains firmly committed to serving his patients and the surrounding community.
Kevin J DeAngelis DPM MS FACFAS
Dr. DeAngelis has been providing expert medical and surgical management of foot and ankle disorders in the community for the past 10 years.
Dr. DeAngelis graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he received the Leonard Hymes, D.P.M. Award, Temple Radiology award and the orthopedic Award. He was chief resident during his surgical residency at Mercy Suburban Hospital, which focused on foot and ankle trauma and complicated diabetic wounds.
Dr. DeAngelis is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Board Certified in Foot Surgery; Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, Associate of American Professional Wound Care Association, Hyperbaric Oxygen Certified and Wound Care Specialist; as well as Laser Certified. Diabetic wounds and Limb Salvage, Ankle Arthroscopy, as well as the Comprehensive Scope of Fore Foot & Rear Foot Surgery are amongst the multitude of services he provides.
Dr. DeAngelis currently serves as Director of residency training at Brandywine Hospital and serves as the Chief of Podiatric surgery. He was voted in Top Docs of Main Line Today in 2010 and 2011. He has three locations Limerick, Lionville, and Coatesville.
Stephen Soondar, DPM FACFAS
Dr. Stephen Soondar graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he received the Constantine Mamas, D.P.M., Memorial Award and the Goldfarb Foundation Award. He was chief resident during his three year surgical residency at Frankford Hospitals, which focused on foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction.
Dr. Soondar see's patients in all office locations and works out of Brandywine and Pottstown wound centers. He also has hospital privileges at Brandywine, Phoenixville and Pottstown.
Dr. Soondar is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He was nominated Top Docs of Main Line Today in 2011. Board certified in Foot Surgery & Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery; Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery; Member of American Board of Podiatric Surgery; Has been published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery; Specializes in Lower Extremity Trauma and Specializes in Charcot Foot Reconstruction, Limb Salvage, Ankle Arthroscopy, as well as the Comprehensive Scope of Fore Foot & Rear Foot Surgery.
